2024 Report: Summary of Key Insights

In 2023 and 2024, The Intentional Endowments Network piloted the Endowment Impact Benchmark (EIB) with fifteen participants.

Profile of 2023 and 2024 Participants

Pilot participants held assets under management ranging from $50 million to over $20 billion, and came from a diverse range of institution types, including public and private higher education institutions, and private, family, and non-profit foundations.

Award Rating Distribution

Participants received one of five ratings following the completion of the EIB questionnaire and verification of the answers provided. The percentage of 2023 and 2024 pilot participants that received each rating level is presented in the figure below.

Case Studies

Receiving an EIB Rating, regardless of the rating level, is indicative of strong sustainable and impact investing leadership.

To receive a Bronze rating, participants must have put some key sustainable and impact investing policies and practices in place. Higher ratings indicate increased robustness of policies and practices, including practices that go beyond market standards.

The Report includes case studies on public 2024 participants, highlighting their areas of leadership.
